Service and Leadership

At St. Helen Catholic School, leadership begins with service. Rooted in our mission to grow in Wisdom, Age, and Grace, we form students to recognize their responsibility as Disciples of Christ—called not only to lead, but to serve.

Service is not an add-on to the educational experience at St. Helen; it is an essential part of who we are. Students are taught that leadership is grounded in humility, compassion, and a willingness to place the needs of others before their own.

Formation Through Service

Throughout the school year, students participate in age-appropriate service opportunities that encourage empathy, stewardship, and generosity. These experiences may include parish partnerships, community outreach, mission-driven initiatives, and campus-based service projects.

By engaging in meaningful acts of service, students learn to:

  • Recognize the dignity of every person

  • Develop compassion and empathy

  • Practice responsibility and initiative

Leadership Development

Students are provided opportunities to grow as leaders within the school community. Through structured leadership roles and collaborative experiences, they learn how to:

  • Take responsibility for their actions

  • Represent the school with integrity

Leadership at St. Helen is rooted in virtue. We strive to cultivate students who lead with courage, integrity, and faith—prepared to serve their parish, their community, and the wider world.

Partnership with Families

We believe leadership and service are strengthened when families and school work together. Through shared experiences—such as service projects, stewardship initiatives, and faith-centered events—students see modeled the importance of generosity and commitment.

At St. Helen Catholic School, we do not simply prepare students for future leadership roles. We form young people who understand that true leadership is measured by service.
