How to apply
New Student Registration
(PK3–8th Grade)
All new students entering PK3 through 8th grade are required to complete the registration process outlined below. Please review each step carefully and submit all required materials by the stated deadlines.
STEP 1:
Complete the New Student Application
Families must download and complete the appropriate application materials listed below.
Required Forms:

Teacher Recommendation Letter from child care facility (PK, if applicable)
All forms must be completed in full prior to registration.
STEP 2:
Submit Required Documentation
The following documents are required at the time of registration:

Copy of student birth certificate

Copy of baptismal certificate and/or First Communion certificate (if applicable)

Copies of all previous report cards and/or standardized test results
-
Application fee: $100 per student (non-refundable)
- Custodial court order or decree (if applicable)
Incomplete applications will delay the admissions process.
STEP 3:
Admissions Testing
All new students are required to complete an entrance exam as part of the admissions process.
What to Expect:

Testing typically lasts approximately one hour

PK4 and Kindergarten testing may take longer

Parents will be contacted when it is time to pick up their child

The entrance exam helps determine a student’s current academic readiness and placement
Testing Day Reminders

Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in

For PK4 and Kindergarten students, parents will complete a checklist while waiting

Completed checklists should be turned in at student pick-up
PK and Kindergarten Age Requirements

PK3: Must be 3 years old before September 1

Testing by appointment only

In some cases, a second screening may be required prior to acceptance

PK4: Must be 4 years old before September 1
-
Kindergarten: Must be 5 years old before September 1
Potty Training Requirements
(PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten)
All students in PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten must be fully potty trained prior to acceptance and before the first day of school. St. Helen Catholic School does not have staff available to assist with potty training.
Fully potty trained is defined as the ability to:

Verbally communicate the need to use the bathroom

Independently pull down and replace clothing
-
Use the toilet without assistance
-
Wipe independently with no assistance
Students who are not fully potty trained will not be eligible for enrollment.
Returning Students Registration Only
All returning students must register online through FACTS. Information has been sent home via email. Contact the school office if you have any questions.
Before & After School Care registration is included in your online enrollment packet. Spots are available first come, first serve basis. Email Carmen Jasso, Registrar, cjasso@sthelencatholicschool.org for further details.
